Amidst technology advancement, what are the top 5 skills we would still need in 2021?

It is really hard to predict what technology will be like in five years' time. But, we have seen a few things that will be around in the future: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Blockchain.

A lot of the initial work done on AI has been focused on the area of image recognition. We have seen many examples of this. Such as the way Google's DeepMind AlphaGo was able to beat a human champion at Go, a game considered much harder than chess for computers to master.

Because of the sheer number of possible board configurations. And, AlphaGo Zero which can teach itself new games without human input.

We are even seeing this on our phones already with products. Like Google Photos or Apple's Face ID on their latest iPhone X handset being able to recognize people just by looking at their face. No need for passwords or fingerprint identification anymore.

Artificial Intelligent

As AI continues to develop we are also seeing it being used more and more in virtual reality (VR) experiences. Such as Oculus Rift or HTC Vive where we can interact with virtual environments and characters.

This VR technology is growing rapidly and is already used by many people today. But, as AI becomes more advanced we could be able to interact with virtual environments in ways we can't even imagine today.

For example, maybe you could have a virtual avatar of yourself that you can imagine doing anything. Go swimming with dolphins in the ocean, visit a music concert in Mexico or learn how to play a musical instrument.

As VR becomes more realistic, it will also become more popular with the masses. This will impact jobs as it will be able to provide real life skills and knowledge through VR.

For example, if you are interested in learning how to fly a plane. Then you could do this by using VR and actually get into the cockpit and fly without actually needing to leave your home. All this will make education much more accessible, cheaper and available for everyone.

Augmented Reality

We have also seen some really interesting developments in augmented reality (AR) technology. Where you can see objects overlaid on top of real-world environments like Pokemon Go. Which puts monsters into your real-world environment.

This technology is already having an impact on education as well as many other sectors. Such as marketing where brands are using AR to place their products onto real world objects.

Such as magazines or billboards so people can see what they would look like before they buy them.

And, we are seeing the latest developments in blockchain. As well which will be a major driving force for many industries in the future.

This is thanks to blockchain's ability to decentralize services - ie, make them more secure and transparent. By using peer-to-peer networks that store data across multiple computers.

This means that instead of having your personal information stored on a centralized database in one place. It is spread across multiple computers which makes it difficult for hackers to access all of your information at once.

Blockchain

Blockchain is already being used for digital currencies such as Bitcoin. But, it has many other potential uses too such as being able to track healthcare records or even voting systems.

So that they cannot be tampered with or hacked. This could potentially create a fairer and more democratic society.

The success of these technologies will depend on how people adapt to them and how society changes. Because of their development.

But, we can only say that they are going to be an increasingly important part of our lives in the future. Also, they will have a big impact on all areas including education, work, politics, entertainment and so on.

What are 5 skills that people will need to learn in the future?

Whether you are a school student, university student, or someone in the workplace. I think it is important to develop skills that will be useful to you in today's world as well as tomorrow's.

So, here are five skills that I think everyone should develop in order to prepare for the future.

1. Technology

Tech industry is becoming more and more important in all areas of our lives. It is already obvious to see that we are living in the digital age where almost everything we do is online, from shopping to socialising to education.

Tech solutions can also help us to stay connected with friends and family around the world, and be able to access new information and resources with the click of a button.

So, it is vital that we are able to use these digital technology effectively for daily tasks and also to help manage our work and personal lives.

We need to be able to use technology tools for things like using a computer, tablet or smartphone effectively as well as using productivity tools such as Google Drive or Microsoft Office.

2. Communication

Social skills are also important. Technology is an amazing tool but it isn't always the best way to communicate with others or to get help when we need it.

So, it is important that we can communicate effectively both on a personal level and on an organizational level too. Sometimes face-to-face, sometimes by phone or through email or text message, so it is vital that we know how to do this well.

This means being able to listen well and respond appropriately too so you don't come across as rude or uninterested. It will be really valuable for us in the future if we can learn how to communicate efficiently with others effectively. So they can understand what you are saying and vice versa.

3. Problem solving

In a fast-paced world, it is important that we can solve problems effectively as they come up to make sure issues don't get bigger and bigger and end up causing more problems for us in the future.

For example, it is better to sort out a relationship issue sooner rather than later so that it doesn't get worse and impact your work or personal life in the long run.

Or, if you have a problem with your computer or phone, it is best to get help now rather than waiting until something stops working properly and you have to buy a new one!

I think it will be really important for us all to learn how to solve problems quickly, effectively and efficiently so that we don't let them get out of control.

By doing an active learning on a regular basis, such as reading books, attending seminars and taking classes, we can equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills we need to tackle any problem that comes our way.

We can also practice problem solving by doing puzzles and brain-teasers, as well as challenging ourselves with new tasks and activities. This will help us develop the skills needed to think critically, identify solutions and take action to implement them.

If you want to be a visionary leader, it is essential to develop the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively. When you are able to solve problems quickly and effectively, it will have a positive impact on your business, relationships and life.

4. Critical thinking

Critical thinking skill is another vital skill for us all because technology is becoming an increasingly important part of our lives but it cannot do everything for us - so we need to learn how to use technology well alongside our own intelligence and natural talents too!

This means being able to take control of our lives in the modern day world by understanding how things work, why they are happening and how we can adapt them to suit our needs.

Analytical skill is also necessary for critical thinking as it helps us to break down complex problems into smaller parts in order to make them easier to understand.

5. Creativity

Technology is a great tool for us to use but it can't always do everything. So, it is important that we are able to use technology alongside our own creativity to get the best out of it for ourselves.

For example, if you are using a smartphone to take a photo of yourself at an event or party. You could edit the photo app on your phone and make some changes. Such as, adding some filters or texts and stickers to it before uploading it onto Facebook or Instagram.

We need to learn how we can use technology in creative ways. So that we can get the best out of it for ourselves and be able to express ourselves in new and exciting ways too.
