How do you find additional pockets of time to revise for a test?

A: What I did was completely re-arrange my schedule. Most of the time, I would go to school, come home and do homework, eat dinner, and then start studying.

However, I found a way to get out of this cycle. I made sure that any time I had to go to the bathroom, take a shower, or do anything other than school work or homework, I would do it during my free period.

This way, by the end of the day, I had extra time that was not accounted for in my schedule.

How did you study for a test?

A: First, we wrote notes on the PowerPoint slides and highlighted important passages in the book. Then we would take turns reading aloud and taking notes with our whiteboards.

To study specifically for the test, we went over our notes and highlighted more important points. We also discussed what was going to be on the test and how we were going to tackle each section of it separately.

What kind of teacher support did you receive? How did this affect your learning?

A: Our teacher was always available if we needed help with anything that was not in our textbook. He helped us examine issues more carefully by giving us new viewpoints on certain topics.

He also provided examples of possible questions that could be asked during a test so that we would know what to expect when it came time for the real thing.

This was very helpful because it increased our confidence in taking the test.

How do you manage your time?

A: I like to use a planner to manage my time. I have everything written down for each day so that I can see what I need to do that day, and when it needs to be done by.

If something is not finished, then it is crossed out and doesn’t appear on the next day’s schedule until it is finished. This helps me stay on track with my schedule so that nothing falls through the cracks.

How do you prioritize your time? What are the most important things you do? How does this affect your learning?

A: The most important thing I do, and have to do, is school work. It’s hard to find extra time for homework, but without it, I wouldn’t know how much I was learning in each class.

It has also taught me how to manage my time better because if I don’t have homework, then there are less things on my schedule. This allows me more time for other things like sports or volunteering.

It also helps me understand how important schoolwork is because if there is no homework, then there is no homework to do.

How do you engage in self-directed learning?

A: First, I make sure that I have an idea of what is going to be on the test. Then I study each part of it separately so that it is more organized and easier to understand.

When it comes time for the test, I make sure that I am ready for it by knowing all the information and being able to explain it well enough.

How do you manage your time? What are the most important things you do? How does this affect your learning?

A: I use my planner to schedule my day according to what’s most important. It helps me get things done without wasting time on something else.

For example, if I don’t have any homework and don’t have anything scheduled for tomorrow, then there is no reason for me to be up late watching television or doing any other activity that has nothing to do with school.

This shows how important schoolwork is because if there isn’t any homework, then there isn’t anything else for me to do!
