The ROI of eLearning: How to measure the success of your training program

So you’ve decided to go with eLearning. Great! You’re making a great decision. But how do you know if your training program is successful?

Here are some questions to ask yourself:

1. Is the employee able to perform the job?

It’s a bit of a cop-out, but this is really what it comes down to. The most important thing is that the employee can perform the job.

So you need to make sure that they can do it after they finish training, which means you need a plan for measuring and evaluating their performance in real time. You also need an evaluation system in place so that employees can let you know if they have any problems with their new skills after training is complete.

In addition, make sure your employees know what their performance goals are for completing each module, and have them keep track of their progress towards these goals on an ongoing basis.

2. Is the employee happy with the training?

It’s important to make sure that your employees are happy with the training because they’re the ones who will have to use it in their day-to-day work. If they don’t like it, they won’t be motivated to do it, and you won’t get any ROI from your investment.

Ask them about their experience, and take their comments seriously. Also, make sure that they understand how they can help you improve the training for future sessions.

It may be as simple as making a comment on a particular module or requesting more detailed instructions in certain areas.

3. Do you need to change something?

Your employees may not know what you need to change, so make sure that you get feedback from them about how your training program is going so far. Do they like it?

Do they think there are things that could be improved? What kinds of things would make them happier with their training?

You should also consider these questions for yourself: do you need to change anything about how you design or deliver your training program? Can you deliver some of the modules in a different way? If so, make the changes, and try them out.

4. Are you measuring and evaluating performance?

If you’re going to make sure that your employees can perform the job after training, you need to measure their performance in real-time. You should also evaluate how well they are performing after training is complete.

For instance, you might want to ask employees about their experience with their new skills after they have had a chance to use them in real-world situations.

Also make sure that they are evaluating themselves on a regular basis so that they can tell you if there are any problems with their performance or if they need help from you or another employee.

5. Do you know if your training program is successful?

Ultimately, you need to know whether your training program is successful or not. In order to do this, ask yourself these questions: Is the employee able to perform the job? Are they happy with the training?

Do you need to change anything about how your training program is going so far? Are you measuring and evaluating performance? If your answer is yes to all of these questions, then congratulations! Your eLearning program has been successful!
