Finding the Right Tutor

If you’ve attended your fair share of tuition classes, you probably know how hard it is to find the right tutor. Often, we spend lots of time searching for tutors in the newspapers or online, and then even more time trying out tons of classes before we find one that’s right. Some of us may rely on our friend’s recommendations of good tutors, but what works for a friend may not work for you. After all, everyone has very different preferences as to what they’d like in a tutor – and it’s not always easy to tell who will make a good match!

Considering these factors can help you make your search more efficient

Level of Expertise

Your tutor may be the nicest person on earth, but that doesn’t matter if they’re not good at what they’re supposed to do: teach! It’s important to choose a tutor who has the knowledge and experience to answer all your questions and help you do well.

Personality

The best teachers inspire you and make you feel interested in learning. It’s very important to find a tutor you enjoy learning from and can get along with so that lessons don’t feel like a chore! It’s easy to tell if your tutor and you have a personality clash – you’d dread their classes and feel even more disinterested in the subject. Don’t underestimate the importance of finding a tutor whose personality matches yours!

Teaching Style

Some of us are more visual creatures, and some of us learn better through listening or doing. Finding a teacher who’s teaching style is compatible with your learning style can make learning much more fulfilling and efficient.

Other Factors

Of course, we can’t forget about cost when it comes to choosing the right tuition. With traditional face-to-face tuition, distance is also a major factor to consider. Nowadays, however, technology is allowing students to match with tutors all across the country, widening one’s choices of tutors to even those who conduct lessons far from your home.

Through Cudy, we offer online tuition in Singapore. It’s easier to find the right tutor as you can try out more classes in less time through our live-streaming feature. We’re also offering a free trial lesson to help you find the best fit! Find out more at www.cudy.co.
