4 Stress-Free Tips for Parenting an Active Child

I’m always on the lookout for helpful tips and strategies to make parenting easier. I’ve found that a few little things can go a long way in keeping our family happy and stress-free. Here are some of my favorite ideas:

#1 Find Ways to Get Moving Together

It can be hard to get everyone moving at the same time, but I’ve found that having at least one “family time” activity each day is a great way to get the whole family moving together.

Our favorite family time activity is playing games, especially as a family. We like to play all kinds of games, but one of our favorites is Settlers of Catan. It’s a fun strategy game that works for kids and adults alike.

#2 Get Them Outside

Kids love being outside! We’ve found that getting them outside helps to make them more focused and relaxed when they come back inside.

A good tip for getting your kids outside is to make it an adventure.

For example, take them on a hike or a walk in the woods or take them somewhere new for lunch or ice cream (even if it’s just down the street).

#3 Let Them Run Off Some Energy at Home First

We have two little boys who love being active, but we also want them to be able to sit still when they need to. One way we make this happen is by getting them moving before they go out somewhere.

If we know we’re going out later in the day, we will play games or do other activities with them at home first.

So they can let off some steam before heading out again later in the day. It helps us avoid meltdowns and fights with other kids (and with us!).

#4 Keep Things Organized & Stocked Up On Snacks & Drinks

Keeping things organized can help prevent some stress from creeping into your life!

Here are some tips: Keep snacks and drinks easily accessible (and preferably not sugary).

Having snacks on hand means you don’t have to run out and buy something when you need it.

You already have it on hand! Keeping your purse stocked up with money will also help you avoid buying junk food when you don’t want it – there will be no excuse!

A large pocketbook can be useful for keeping track of keys, phones, wallets and other items while shopping. If everyone has their own place for their things, it makes shopping much easier!

Kids need to move! It’s just a fact of life.

However, you don’t have to stress about it. You can have a fun, active family that doesn’t drive you crazy!

By keeping things organized and moving around as a family, you can easily keep everyone moving without driving yourself crazy!
