4 Tips to Stay Focused and Productive During Your Private Tuition in Singapore

Private tuition is a way to get help in areas that you feel you need to improve on. This is not always the case.

Here are some tips to keep you focused and productive during your private tuition in Singapore

1. Make a list of the things you want to achieve from your tuition session

Make a list of the things you want to achieve from your tuition session. This will help you stay focused on what you need to learn and make sure that you are productive during your lesson.

2. Organise your study materials in advance before the lesson starts

When you arrive at the tuition centre, do not just settle down and start doing nothing until it is time for the lesson to start.

Make sure that you have all of your study materials ready and organised before the lesson starts. So that you do not waste time looking for them when it is time for class to begin.

You can also use this as an opportunity to read through any notes or textbook chapters again. So that you can refresh yourself on what has covered in class before coming for private tuition.

You may even find that there are some concepts or ideas that have not fully explained in class which will be covered by your tutor during private tuition.

So if possible, bring along a copy of your class notes or textbook chapter so that they can referred to during private tuition as well. If not, just try to focus on taking notes of what is being taught during private tuition.

So that you have a good understanding of what was covered in class beforehand, and can refer back to these notes later if needed.

3. Prepare questions for your tutor before coming for tuitions

Asking questions helps engage both parties in a discussion about a topic or subject matter which leads to more learning taking place. Than if there was no discussion at all about the topic or subject matter at hand.

Even if it is just between yourself and yourself! This also helps keep things interesting. Because there will be more interaction between yourself and your tutor.

Which makes it less likely for boredom or tiredness setting in due to lack of activity while learning something new and difficult!

4. Learn how other people around us think

While we all have our own way of thinking and seeing things differently from one another, we still share many similarities when it comes down to how we see life and our surroundings.

Learn to understand how other people think and see things differently from you, and it will make learning more interesting for you.

Because you will be able to see the world in a different light than what you have been accustomed to. This will also help you appreciate others more as well.

Since, they are not the same as you, but they are also not that different from you after all!

In summary, while private tuition is a good way to learn and develop your skills. It is important to remember that it should not be done just for the sake of doing it.

It should be done because you want to learn and understand the subject matter or topic being taught, and not just to get good grades.

If you do not feel that you are getting something out of your tuition sessions. Then maybe it is time to consider looking for another tutor who can help you better with your learning needs.
