What should you do if you failed A Levels?

A Levels are a great way to prepare for university and can lead to good jobs. However, they’re not the only option, and you don’t have to go to university if you don’t want to.

If you’re thinking about going into a certain industry or career, it may be worth considering the alternative qualifications that are available. They may suit you better than A Levels, and they may be a better option for your future.

What should you do if you failed A Levels?

You can resit A Levels, or you can study a different set of subjects and achieve qualifications in those instead.

What if you did well in A Levels but want to change your career?

If you have A Levels under your belt, it will be easier to get a job in any industry, so that’s a positive.

However, if you want to go into something different from what you studied at school. Such as going into the creative industries or teaching, then resitting may not be the best option for you.

If you’re thinking about resitting, it’s worth thinking about how much work you’re going to have to put in.

Will it be worth it? Are you willing to go through the stress of studying for A Levels again? Do you want to do this? If not, then think about whether it would be better for you to go down a different route.

What if you didn’t do well in A Levels and want to change your career?

If you’ve failed your A Levels, don’t give up on education altogether. There are plenty of alternatives out there that can lead to great careers and good jobs.

Take a look at our alternative qualifications section for more information.

However, if you don’t want to go down the route of studying for alternative qualifications.

Then you could try and get a job in an industry that doesn’t require A Levels. This will be easier if you have other skills or experience that can help you.

Whatever you decide to do, there are lots of options out there.
