How to be the National University of Singapore Undergraduate Student?

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a research-intensive public university in Singapore. Its main campus is located in Kent Ridge, about two kilometres (1.2 mi) from the country’s central business district of Shenton Way.

NUS also has several other campuses in Singapore and its surrounding region, including its medical school campus at Novena and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine; engineering campus at Ayer Rajah; science and technology campus at Buona Vista; and the arts & social science campus at Clementi.

In addition to its main campus, NUS has two affiliated institutions of higher learning – Victoria Junior College (VJC), which is located next to Jurong East MRT Station, and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).

There are currently five Nobel laureates who are either alumni or faculty members of this university.

In fact, it was one of only three universities that were ranked within Asia’s top 25 for 2014 by Quacquarelli Symonds according from quality-adjusted ranking of their research output over 10 years. More information can be found here: http://www.nus.edu/admissions/howtoapply/ .

NUS was ranked 3rd in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2016. It also has an admission rate of about 23%, which is a little bit lower than the average admission rate for UK Universities. However, it remains one of the most prestigious universities in the world.

1. Singaporean and Permanent Residents: Those who are in the school system can apply directly to NUS. There is no need to sit for an entrance test. However, you will still need to take your A-Levels or other equivalent senior high school examinations before you can start your studies at NUS.
