Rapid eLearning is really taking off. It is growing at an incredible rate. You’ll find a ton of tutorials and resources for creating your own online courses.
This means that there are also a lot of mistakes being made by beginners to Rapid eLearning. Many people are struggling to create their own courses because they don’t know the right way to do it.
They waste a lot of time and energy on things that aren’t important, or even worse they never finish their course at all!
I have put together this guide to help you avoid making these mistakes and allow you to get started creating your own awesome Rapid eLearning courses in no time! This is going to be an extensive guide, so let’s get started!
Creating an Effective Course Title and Description
When you create your course title, you must understand what people will be searching for when they are looking for the type of content that you are creating.
For example, if you are creating a training course on Microsoft Excel, people will search for “Microsoft Excel”.
If you are creating a course on WordPress, people will search for “WordPress”. You can’t just create a course title and description that sounds good. You have to know what your target audience is searching for.
I can’t stress this enough. Your course title and description are extremely important when it comes to getting new students to enroll in your course.
An impressive title and description will increase the number of students that click on your courses in the first place, which means more leads for you!
The trick is to get your course out there and try different titles and descriptions until you find one that really works well. Don’t worry about the rest of this guide until you have found an effective title and description for your course!

Creating a Killer Welcome Message
When students first enroll in your course, they are looking for two things: how much it costs, and how long it is going to take them to complete the content.
Once they know these two things, they are much more likely to enroll in your course.
This is why it is important to create a killer welcome message that answers these two questions upfront. You can also use this welcome message to make some sort of promise to the students.
Tell them that they will learn a specific skill, or that they will be able to complete the course in a certain amount of time. This is a great way to increase conversions on your courses!
Creating an Effective Course Design
One of the most important things you can do when creating your course is to design it properly. This means using the right type of media, and not overloading your students with too much information at once.
The best way to do this is by using what I call “chunking”. This involves breaking up the content into small chunks so that you don’t overwhelm your students with too much information at once.
This is why it is important to know your audience before you start creating your course. If you know that they are beginners, then you should have a lot of chunks of content that teach the basics.
On the other hand, if you know that they are advanced learners, then you should have fewer chunks of content and more advanced information.
Creating an Effective Course Format
The next thing you need to do when creating your course is to make sure that it has a proper format. You want to be sure that the layout of your course makes sense, and it doesn’t confuse your students in any way.
You also want to make sure that all of the buttons and navigation work properly, so students can easily navigate through your course without any problems. The best way to do this is by using my free eLearning checklist template!
It will walk you through all of these steps and more!
Using An Effective Learning Management System (LMS)
When creating a course, there are a lot of different options for how you can organize the content. One option is by using what I call “traditional” learning management systems (LMS).
These LMSs usually allow for lots of different types of content, and a lot of flexibility.
The problem with these LMSs is that they are really difficult to use. Most people aren’t able to figure out how to create a course using them, and most people don’t want to deal with the complexity of creating a course on these systems.
This is why it is important to use an LMS that makes it easy for you to create courses! You can check out my favorite Rapid eLearning LMS here.
